Autumn is a really busy time on a flower farm, you must plan carefully your next years planting,
To get ahead of the game its very often a good idea to jump start some Hardy annuals,so they can make good root systems over the colder months.
Some of my favourites are Cornflower,Scabiosa, Ammi majus and Daucus
August has bought so much insect life.especially the Bees who love to snack on the Dahlia nectar and then have a little snooze.
I now refer to this as the Bee B & B area.
I’m so pleased with the sight of all these pollinators and it must mean I’m doing something right.
No chemicals or pesticides has definitely paid off.
I’ve so many plans for this year, not least the fact that since September I have been using my newly acquired electric bike for most of my commuting.
My intention is to use it to deliver my bouquets, wherever possible.
Thus helping me to become even more sustainable.
